Puerto Plata Weather

Shimmering golden beaches, vivid blue waters and a wealth of sunshine attract tourists to Puerto Plata year-round. Although the area receives temperate weather throughout the year, the best time to visit is generally during the dry season lasting from May through October. During these months the weather is pleasantly warm with cool nights and limited rainfall. Temperatures fall slightly from November through April with increased precipitation peaking in November and December. The Caribbean's hurricane season lasts from June 1 through November 30, but Puerto Plata's peak months are August and September.
